This is fascinating…and so very subversive! These oranges aren’t illegal…but kids can get high off of them! SWEET!! (I guess that has two meanings…)
On another note: learn from the kid in the story! Don’t EVER consent to a police search under any circumstances. Tell them to get a warrant or leave you alone. They have no right to search you without a warrant and it could only lead to bad things. Plus, if you happen to have some illegal substance on you, consenting to the search pretty much kills any chance you have at getting the evidence suppressed in court.
It is true: they can seize your property without any genuine due process of law. So, don’t consent to a search, EVER. Don’t feed the pigs.
